Lemon Leaves

During lockdown I was kindly sent a box of lemons grown in a walled garden in Co. Durham. I loved the leaves, which are so rarely seen in my local fruit and vegetable shop. I carefully pressed them and documented them in this print.

My prints explore the details that would be challenging to cast in glass. The relief mono printing process captures the texture and detail of each leaf in perfect detail.

Medium: A unique relief mono print. Made using a technique I developed at Northern Print- an ongoing collaboration with the natural world. I collect the leaves and press them in a flower press. They are then ready to be inked up with thin layers of ink. Made using an electric press.

Printed on Somerset paper
