Lime

This glass lime fits beautifully in the palm of your hand. It reminds me of making mojitos and the scent of citrus and mint.

I began casting citrus fruit for a show at Harewood House. There is something so joyful about them. Particularly the delicious shadow you get if placed on a sunny windowsill.

Medium: Cast glass with a polished base that allows you to see inside the lime. The base is like a little window that allows you to see inside the lime.

I made this piece using the ‘burnout’ technique, so every detail of the original is captured.

The glass is from a small family business in the Czech Republic who makes a beautiful range of greens.

Handmade by me in my studio in Whitby.
