The Fig & the Snail

£275.00

A beautiful glass fig with a gilded snail.

Cast from an original fig foraged in the orchard at Shandy Hall (home of Laurence Sterne). The snail shell was collected from the wind swept sand dunes in the far north of Scotland, this has become a series and each piece has a different snail shell.

My recent work explores how different elements work together and the gold leaf accentuates the spiral of the snail shell. The wet weather this year has meant that I’ve accidentally brought snail sback from my foraging jaunts. I love the way they cling to things.
